Well....this is a question on an Environment debate thread on msn, that I wrote an overly positive message on. . .The thread is about technology and ideas regarding climate change and global warming. I hadn't expected the harsh reaction to my message..(as it seemed like a forum for looking at things in a positive/pro-active way.).and although I knew that forums tend to get people either moaning about something, or posting random, or not relevant comments I feel that mostly debates are healthy and that debating can be quite enlightening, as you get to see many sides of view, without necessarily going round in circles.
A few of my suggestions, that I freely admit ain't exactly new or technological I will write down here:
Coppicing. Hazel and Willow can be used even in a small garden space. They are a native species, renewable (Trees are the future!) provide you with enough sticks for garden structures, garden sculpture, pea sticks, compost heap, natural habitats for wildlife and more.
Cut down on buying products that have too much packaging. Recycling is fab, but need to buy/use recycled products whenever possible.
Washing machines that go to 90 degrees + . Why??! (why do they make them this go this high eh? Is it just because they can?)
I could start ranting about these things for the next millenia so I will just have to learn more... I'm currently reading the 'The Rough Guide to Climate Change' which is quite a complex issue and I hope I get to finish and/or understand some of it!

Love your ideas, Hannah. Greg and I were just talking about how sad it was that the country's hedgerows have been destroyed, and what an impact that has had on the environment. Keep posting your blogs, girl - I wanna hear what you've got to say!
